The Story Behind The Name

Life is full of interesting characters.

Years ago, Jannah Hotels & Resorts' Chief Executive Officer, Nehme Imad Darwiche, got to meet just such a character - a real life Bedouin.

The Bedouin taught him countless things about the desert, shared his stories about life and highlighted what to do in order to survive.

This meeting sparked a vision.

One night, Nehme dreamt he was watching his Bedouin friend planting olive trees in the desert. Amazed, he asked him how these trees would be able to grow in the arid sand. The Bedouin answered him that these were not normal olive trees – they would flourish, bear turquoise stones, bring water to the land and give life.

The Birth of Jannah Hotels & Resorts' Logo

Today, Jannah Hotels & Resorts logo is an embodiment of this vision, represented by an olive tree carrying turquoise stones. To the dreamer, the olive trees in the desert appear as a paradisiacal garden of possibility and potential. ‘Jannah’ is Arabic for ‘paradise’ or short for ‘garden’, thereby being the perfect word to describe the dream’s essence and headline the company’s name: Jannah Hotels & Resorts.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer
With a wealth of make-it-happen skills and a deep attachment to the region’s indigenous traditions, Nehme brings passion and know-how to our international team. He spearheads our vision and ensures that every step from well-devised strategies through to detailed operational management initiatives, are delivered professionally and successfully.











Chief Operating Officer
A graduate of BA in Hospitality Management from the American University of C&E and Cornell University, with an extensive operational and concept development experience. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Mohamed applies more than 20 years of international hospitality operations and experience ensuring integration and consistency across all Jannah Hotels & Resorts in the region to direct the group’s growth & development.











Vice President of Sales
With a 12-year work experience in International hotel brands, Ossama holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, a High Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership studies from the UK, and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Strategic Quality Management. Ossama is eager to contribute in the brand growth by developing a sales strategy that follows the brand's vision, mission and values.











Worldwide Marketing Director
Known for tireless work ethics and an energetic presentation, Soraya started her career with a passion for luxury brands which evolved in an elaborate network of beliefs about the role of Marketing in the business world. This was when Soraya decided to pursue a Masters in Marketing. Living between Casablanca and Tokyo gave her broad exposure to multiple fields and cultures and allowed her to be proficient in five international languages. She is dedicated to conquer the world with the Jannah Hotels & Resorts brand.











Vice President of Revenue Optimazation
Passionate for hospitality industry and bearing great interpersonal skills, Hazem graduated at Suez Canal University, Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, with the ability and knowledge to develop standards of operations and strategic processes. He has been optimizing company’s revenue in order to give the brand a well-established spot in the market.











Excecutive Director
Zsofia is exceptional in providing executive-level assistance to the CEO and highly proficient in handling administration and managing projects. She is holding a dual MSc degree of Edinburgh Napier University and Hotel and Tourism Management Institute, Switzerland. Her dynamic and passionate personality coupled with her experience in the research field and hotel Front Office operations with InterContinental and in the Emirates Palace will bring great value to Jannah Hotels & Resorts.











Assistant Director of Research & Development
Valeria joined Jannah Hotels & Resorts after graduating from Vatel Nimes, France with a BA in Hotel Management and Business School. She has assisted the company on multiple projects involving market and financial studies across the UAE and the European market with hotel developments. Valeria brings to the company considerable experience from the European market, with frontline experience in Intercontinental Carlton Cannes and Lyon. Living between America and Europe gave her a wide knowledge about international markets.











Director of Security
Having a wide experience in safety and security department, Yassin is responsible for securing an organization’s safety and heading the security intelligence. His experience includes heading the security in Tamarind & Carnivore Restaurants, Ambassador Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, as well as a couple of hotels in Abu Dhabi prior to joining Jannah Hotels & Resorts.
